3 Million Check-Ins Per Day on Foursquare
According to Foursquare CEO, Dennis Crowley, Foursquare users are now checking in 3 million times per day (as of August 2011), up from 2 million back in February. And that’s just Foursquare. People are checking in on Facebook and Yelp too. Clearly the trend is catching on.

What this means for your business:
One way to leverage all of this check-in activity is to create a check-in special, which you can do on Foursquare, Facebook, and Yelp. You can offer a discount on a purchase, give away something (preferably edible or branded) for free, or even donate to a charity.
Check-in specials create incentive for people to check-in, and to broadcast their whereabouts (and your special) to their friends and family. In other words: It’s FREE ADVERTISING! So let’s stop asking the question, “Why would anyone check in to my business?” and start asking, “How can I thank my customers for all of this free word-of-mouth marketing?”
